Elephant is not enough.

February 6, 2010 at 8:03 pm (Dining & Restaurants, Food)

Had my first dining experience at The Salad Shop (located at UOB Plaza) on Wednesday.
Was rather confused at their ordering system.
Spent quite some time studying their order forms – pondering on what they meant by rabbit, zebra & elephant servings.
Small, Medium, Large?

Thinking ELEPHANT = Large, and that there were 2 of us, we chose the most expensive serving to share, which gives us more selections of toppings to our base salad.
I imagined that our salad bowl would take up about 3/4 table space, but when our salad arrived, I was kind of disappointed… :(

the size of their salad bowl is standard.

Though the portion ain’t as huge as expected, the salad was yummy!
All was great except for the Parmesan Cheese.
They had it in such thin slices that we couldn’t even tell that they were cheese.

2 for an elephant ain’t enough.
I could gobble up everything myself :)

And yes, I’m a veggie junkie :D

Too much to hold, that it fell…

I find this photo rather hilarious.
Big time Grammy Awards winner, Taylor Swift in one of her signature expressions. :D

My ‘expendition’ in an Arts College

January 23, 2010 at 6:19 pm (Art, Dining & Restaurants, General)

Attended Lasalle Open House last Saturday.
Life in an Art College seems interesting.
Let the pictures do the talking…

The campus has a unique design.

Some art structure, which I don’t understand.

Minutes of meeting, a gallery that display and sell some of the students’ art work.

I find this particular student’s work rather humorous.

This is cute.
But I won’t want to live in cupcakes… too erm, sweet.

Some works are selling like hotcakes that it got sold out even before I could see what it’s like.

Students relaxing on the greenery in the campus.

And I tried to be artistic too.
Carpet grass does feel good.

Tamagotchi’s love?

Had my late lunch at the campus’ cafe, called 15 minutes.
After making my order, I proceed to a table of my choice & waited for my food…
Was observing what that round thing on the tray was, when it suddenly vibrate with flashes of red light.

I didn’t know what to do, and hence took that buzzing thing to the counter to see my food all already for me to eat.
So that’s what a patron buzzer is for… that’s new to me.

Spicy Prawn Aligo Oligo.
It’s not bad, just that the portion was small & the pasta was too tasty for me… or was it I added salt instead of pepper?
I don’t know.

Well, that sums up my day in an Arts School.
LOL.

Being Small ain’t always good…

January 7, 2010 at 8:09 pm (General)

I quite like this dress, but the overall cutting’s too big for me :(
My short legs made me look weird in long dresses… like I’m a kid wearing oversized clothes.

Well, on the hand I saved money.
Whoo~

(P.S 1: My hair needs some trimming.)
(P.S 2: I think I can ‘hear’ my camera ’screaming – gimme a break’. LOL.)

The Handprint…

January 3, 2010 at 7:14 pm (General)

on my office chair was the result of my attempt to ’smack’ off the years of dust on it.
I was in fact, surprised to see the perfect imprint of my right hand in my 1st attempt.
The amount of ‘powder’ flowing around the office was overwhelming.
Literally could not see what was in front.

Had wanted to do this much earlier, but was stopped by fellow colleagues.
Being alone in the office enabled me to carry out this ‘task’, but gave up in the end.
No matter how many times I beat the chair, the dust still remained.
Ended up changing into another chair which was not particularly used by anyone.

I still hate my dust-hazard workstation :(

Goodbye OLD NINE.

December 31, 2009 at 10:46 pm (General)

The year seemed to pass with a swift.
I can’t recall what really had happened, except for a few significant events & incidents.

I remember having a disastrous haircut in early March.
(Refer to the last image of the following post)
On the same month, disappointment kicks in on a certain friend, whom I had known for more than ten years.
It was because of a small incident that made me realise the level of sincerity she put into our ‘friendship’.
I blamed myself for getting into this ‘foolery’… and took me the rest of the year to figure the reason of my anger.
I ain’t the only one treated this way.
Guessed we sort of give up on maintaining this kind of ‘friendship’.
It bear not much meaning to me now.

In May, was our fellow classmate SQ’s wedding.
She seems very happy in her new ‘growing’ family.
It was also quite a shopping month for me, spending most money on travel wear.

June was the time when I’ve got ‘promoted’ to the level of  ‘auntie’.
That don’t sound cool :(

My super-active niece is in fact, quite a crybaby.
Her unique “car-engine-start-up” roar is deafening to the ear.
Reckon neighbours a few units away could even hear her cries.

July probably would be the most memorable month of OLD NINE, and peharps the one of  most enjoyable month of my life so far.

I made my first flight to Australia & had quite a great time with my travel buddies there.
Shopping there was boring for me, but was awesome for the guys. Strange.
Special thanks to KL for taking time off to bring us around.
(P.A had been Melbourne for the 2nd time & is now on the way back to Singapore. I have yet to finish blogging about my trip. LOL)

I got busy with work subsequently.
Time just pass with a snap of a finger.
Overall, I had a better year compare to the previous :)

Goodbye OLD NINE.
Hope TEN will be an awesome one too.

Christmas Lights & Merry=)

December 27, 2009 at 8:50 pm (Dining & Restaurants, General, Photography)

I know I’m slow.
Christmas was 2 days ago.
I dragged till now to blog about the Christmas Lights in Orchard Road.
But they say that there’s 12 days of Christmas… so I ain’t too late =P

Like any other year, the roads along Orchard were brightly lit up :)

This ‘tree’ gave me an inspiration on what to draw.
But I’ve yet to start on anything yet :(

The trees here uphold a very important task during this festive season.

To the 3 Wii girls… I’m the sorry the picture turns out this way.
I forgot to change settings of my cam… hence the screwed up focus.

Ahh… sparkly, dazzling, starry… I’m dizzy.

The new Mandarin Gallery.
I kinda like this shot.
Pity the balloons were blur.
Those new malls opened at the right time.
Business was a boom.

A ‘Christmas tree’ with lots of holes.

And another with full of Ferrero Rochers!

Christmas all Decked out.
So were the shoppers.

“Baby, you have the most beautiful smile.”

Saw this happy baby outside Kinokuniya.
Thought that she was an Eurasian initially, but both her parents were Asians.
I decided to step out from my ‘introvert’ mode & asked for permission to take a couple of pictures of the infant.
If I’ve tried to speak up more, I might have taken more interesting pictures of people out there.

On a side note,

my annual practice… the itchy hands!
LOL :D

The ION tree looks very normal…
but stepping inside,

I felt like I was in outer space :)

Eventually, I got bored of snapping Christmas Trees…

so I made use of reflections of the ornaments to cam-whore!
:P

Water is the source of FUN for kids!

Snowman’s musical.

And what’s Christmas like without Coca-cola?

A few days before Christmas, I had dinner with Sandy & Co.
The intended location for our meal was changed from Marche to this Italian Restaurant beside Forever 21.
The food and service was lousy, thus I didn’t bother to remember the name.
Please don’t go there to eat.

Anyway, here’s Sandy with her ‘curry puff’ food.

some what looked like roti-prata folded into half to me.

Teck’s carbonara,

… and his ‘prayer’ before his meal.
LOL XD

While waiting for my food’s arrival…

snapping pictures of my cup of tea & that bottle of  ‘red berries’.
We were at table 28, I reckon.

Lifen’s & my orders came almost an hour later.
I lost interest to eat.

Literally VERY UPSET at their seafood linguine.
Nothing here taste better than the seafood pasta I had in Melbourne.
Lifen’s order didn’t seem to be any better.
Both of us didn’t finish our food…

but we seemed to be very proud of that, eh?

Had little time catching up with the rest.

SQ is going to be a mama in a few months time!
Time passed real fast.
It seemed like yesterday when we were just little girls giggling over little silly things.

Group pictures with Teck.
So erm, Teck, if you are reading, please send SOFTCOPIES over to me ASAP!

Happy Holidays =P

Reason that Girls took such a long in a fitting room

December 19, 2009 at 7:07 pm (General)

was to capture images of themselves in those new dresses on sale :D

Well, I’m not that inconsiderate… won’t do that when there’s lots of people queuing to change =P

P.S: That camera was meant to capture Christmas lightings in Orchard Road, not me in the fitting room!

Souvenirs from Thailand

December 18, 2009 at 6:47 pm (General)

My colleague flash this thing in front of my eyes when I was in the mist of rushing my work…

I almost screamed.
That pouch with the scary “red-eye-flowery-rabbit” key-chain was a souvenir that she got for me from her recent Thailand trip.
The pouch was fine with me, but not that “rabbit”.
I don’t like ghoulish stuffs mixed with sweet or cute things. XP

Speaking of souvenirs from Thailand, I’ve got this purse from another colleague some time ago.
It was supposed to an elephant image on the purse…

but it some what looked like an “one-eye” monster waving happily at you =P

“I’m happy it’s here because…?”

December 13, 2009 at 8:27 pm (General, Health & Beauty)

Someone popped me with this question last Saturday outside Cineleisure, where Boon Sim & I were proceeding to for our KTV session.

Apparently there was this kind of roadshow organised by Whisper (- I found out about this much later), and by answering this question, I’d get a free goody bag.

“It” means period.
I was dumbstruck. I totally had no idea how to answer this question.
Period is a hassle to me, and I don’t really enjoy ‘it’.
The only thing I’d be ‘happy’ about ‘it’ is that I’m still functioning normally.
And so my answer was …. “it’s a sign of health”.

Ok, that’s a stupid answer.

I quickly took the goody bag and went to meet Boon Sim, who was waiting aside awkwardly.

I quite like the image printed on the goody bag :)

It contained several toiletries, and the best value gift would be the shaver :)
But what is a pack of chips doing in a bag of toiletries?

P.S: We had a voice-breaking session at Kbox & we’ve got ourselves such a BIG room with just the TWO of us!

SHIOK! :D
